Amazing motors, using them on my heavy duty hexa, really powerfull, i started using standard 13 apc props, then switched to 15 cf's and got 50pcnt more out of my batteries, which by the way im using a battery per motor, 2,2 and 3 mah (six 2.2 At a time, and another 6 3.0) 6s, weighing in 7 kg on the 3.0 mah batteries, with a gimbal and a dslr, using naza v2. Flying time of 15 minutes

A replacement bearing kit photo has just been uploaded to files section. These motors use large replacement bearings which is in general a better design concept for high pole count, lower KV motors. All these Turnigy Multistar motor have the same size shaft and bearings. A size that is very common in the RC world, i.e., 686Z or 686ZZ available from many manufacturers. BOCA 686Z bearings shown in files section photo.
Best to always confirm motor has no runout before going ahead with bearing replacement.

I have 17 of these motors.... Most are excellent, i.e., 99pcnt balanced out of the box but I had 4 or 5 that could not be balanced. This issue was runout! Runout is a misalignment between the motor shaft and the motor bell. The motor shaft is held in place by a tiny set screw. Specialized tools may be required to get the shaft re-aligned with the motor bell. I recommend buying extra motors initially and returning those that cannot be balanced. Motor coil polarity and individual magnet polarity are all 100pcnt as are the original bearings. Use quality 686ZZ replacement bearings if/when required.

I own 15 of these motors..... 8 for my new Octo, 1 spare and 6 for my Hex which has now had more than 100 flights using these motors..... and I will likely buy more as the price and quality meets the value I am looking for.
Note that bearings need to be replaced sooner or later and the pancake style motors are prone to damage during bearing replacement. I have sourced all parts including bearing retainer clips and have developed a jig that prevent motor winding damage during bearing replacement.

I own 14 of these already, 6 for my custom hex and another 8 for my new Octo. I am very pleased. However after approx 100 flights with these on my hex I had a couple of ground flips and had to replace bearings. One word of caution.... pancake style motors are prone to winding damage during bearing replacement..... additional info available upon request.

These are re-labelled HL motors. Amazingly good motors, just remember to remove the multistar sticker and clean off the glue so they are balanced again (balancing was done before sticker was added), the prop adapters are not balanced. Run these on 15-17inch CF "paddle" style props directly attached to the motor to get the most out of you motor (yes at 17inch props on an Octo means you are looking at a wheel base of about 1300mm if you do not wish to overlap the props). You are wasting the motor using wooden/APC/Turnigy props on these, they need light paddle style props to get the most out of the motor which means you need to run carbon fibre.

well made motors, they came in nice protective metal box with foam inside. Also screws and prom mount included. Mounting wall is little thicker than on 4822 series multistar motors. only they should came with soft silicon wire instead of those wires. Motors are balanced and they run very nice. Will use them on tarot T960 hexacopter for AP.
